Insurance & payment
No surprises. That's the whole policy.
Insurance is the most confusing part of starting ABA. Our job is to make it the least of your worries: we verify your benefits, explain your coverage in plain language, and tell you exactly what to expect — before your first session.
How it works with us
California law requires most commercial health plans to cover behavioral health treatment for autism, including ABA, and Medi-Cal covers ABA services for eligible children. That means for most families, ABA is a covered benefit — the work is navigating authorizations and plan details, and that's work we do for you.
We bill insurance directly and confirm your specific plan's coverage during intake. Call us to begin benefits verification; we'll arrange an appropriate way to exchange the insurance details we need rather than asking you to send them by ordinary email or voicemail. Then we'll explain whether and how we can work with your coverage, what authorization is needed, and what your costs — if any — will be.
- Commercial insurance — most major plans cover ABA under California's autism coverage mandate; we verify yours during intake
- Medi-Cal managed care — ABA is a covered benefit for eligible children; we'll help you understand your plan's process
- Private pay — transparent rates for families paying directly; ask us for details
What we handle for you
Benefits verification
Before your first session, we confirm your coverage and explain it in plain language — copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements included.
Authorizations
We prepare and submit assessment and treatment authorizations, track them, and keep you posted — you won't be the one chasing the plan.
Ongoing billing
Claims, reauthorizations, and plan changes are our job. If something in your coverage changes, we flag it early and talk it through with you.
