Kindaya Academy

Training isn't a checkbox here. It's the point.

Kindaya Academy is our in-house training school — the structured path every member of our clinical team follows, from their first day through every stage of their career. Families deserve to know how the person in their home was prepared. Here's exactly how.

Why an academy

Because "watch some videos and good luck" isn't training.

In much of the ABA field, training is something that happens to a new technician once, quickly, before they're handed a caseload. The results are predictable: inconsistent care, burned-out staff, and families who feel the difference.

We built Kindaya Academy so that preparation is structured, verified, and continuous. Every new team member completes their onboarding path through the Academy before their first client day. And the Academy doesn't end at onboarding — it's how our team keeps growing, level by level, for as long as they're here.

This is one half of a simple bargain: we train people seriously and pay them fairly, and families get a team that's prepared, consistent, and worth keeping.

What this means for your family
  • Prepared, not improvising — the technician in your home completed a structured onboarding path before their first session
  • Skills verified in person — key skills are demonstrated in the field and signed off by a supervisor, not just completed on a screen
  • Never out of date — required trainings carry expiration dates and renew on schedule
  • Always supervised — Academy training supports BCBA supervision; it never replaces it

How training works

Six things every Kindaya training path includes.

A structured path, in the right order

Training is organized into role-based learning paths, sequenced so foundational skills come before advanced ones. No one is left to guess what to learn next — the path is laid out from day one.

Learning that travels with the work

Our team works in family homes across the Valley, so the Academy goes where they go — on the web and in a mobile app, with coursework that can be downloaded and completed between sessions, then synced when they're back online.

Live training, not just modules

Some things have to be taught by a person. The Academy schedules live training sessions — in person or virtual — with attendance tracked as part of each learning path.

Skills demonstrated in the field

Online coursework alone doesn't prove someone can do this work. Key clinical skills are verified through structured observation: a supervisor watches the skill performed in practice, records the result with written feedback, and signs off before it counts.

Certifications that stay current

Completed trainings issue certificates our team can access anytime — and the ones that matter carry expiration dates. Before a required training lapses, the Academy automatically re-enrolls the team member so renewal happens on schedule, not by memory.

Progress everyone can see

Every team member has a transcript of completed training and earned competencies, and supervisors can see their team's progress at a glance. Nothing about preparation is left vague — for our staff or for the families they serve.

Where it leads

A real career ladder — not a dead-end job.

Most ABA companies offer technicians a wage and a wave goodbye. Kindaya's career ladder gives every clinical role a next step, and the Academy provides the training that supports each one.

Technician track

Behavior Technician → Lead RBT

  • Behavior Technician — learning the craft: ABA implementation, data collection, documentation, and Kindaya's clinical standards
  • Registered Behavior Technician — certified, running regular sessions with growing independence
  • Senior RBT — trusted with complex cases, strong escalation judgment, a model for newer staff
  • Lead RBT — supporting peer development, onboarding, and clinical consistency across the team
Clinical track

Associate Clinical Supervisor → Lead Clinical Supervisor

  • Associate Clinical Supervisor — developing independent caseload management with structured support
  • Clinical Supervisor — full ownership of a caseload, supervision, and family communication
  • Senior Clinical Supervisor — complex cases, mentorship of other supervisors, quality across the company
  • Lead Clinical Supervisor — shaping Kindaya's clinical systems, supervision model, and training standards
Toward BCBA certification

For technicians who want to become behavior analysts, we support the path — including structured supervision and development aligned with BCBA fieldwork requirements. Advancement at Kindaya is earned through demonstrated skill, judgment, and reliability, reviewed at least annually — not just time served.

The platform

Built on a professional learning platform.

Kindaya Academy runs on Absorb LMS, an established learning platform used by organizations worldwide — with a learner portal, a mobile app, live-session scheduling, in-field observation tools, and automatic certification tracking. We chose real infrastructure over a folder of PDFs because training that isn't organized doesn't stick.

Our clinical team logs into one place for their entire development path: courses, live sessions, field sign-offs, certificates, and what comes next.

Honestly, where we are

Kindaya is a young practice, and the Academy is growing deliberately. It launches with the core clinical onboarding and compliance paths every team member completes, and new courses are added as the team grows. We'd rather tell you exactly what exists than inflate it — that's how we handle everything here.

"People who are trained seriously, supervised meaningfully, and paid fairly provide better care. That's not idealism — it's how Kindaya is built to work."
