Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making kindayaaba.com accessible to everyone.
Working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance
Our Commitment
Kindaya ABA is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to health information should not depend on ability, and we work to build this site in a way that is usable by as many people as possible.
We are actively working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time project. We review this site regularly and work to address issues as we discover them.
Current Status
This website is in active development. We are working toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Current accessibility measures include:
- Semantic HTML5 structure with proper heading hierarchy
- All navigation elements are keyboard accessible
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- All images have descriptive alt text
- Focus indicators are visible for all interactive elements
- The mobile navigation menu is operable via keyboard and screen reader
- Skip-to-content functionality is available
- Forms use proper label elements associated with their inputs
- Language attribute is set correctly (
lang="en") on all pages - Motion is reduced for users who have indicated a preference for reduced motion via
prefers-reduced-motion - FAQ accordion elements include proper ARIA attributes (
aria-expanded) updated dynamically
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas currently under review or improvement:
Third-party embedded forms
Form embeds from Quickbase (used for contact and newsletter sign-ups) are hosted by a third party. We are reviewing their accessibility compliance and will use accessible alternatives where they fall short.
PDF documents
Any PDF documents linked from this site may not yet be fully accessible. We are working to ensure new documents meet accessibility standards before publication.
Older browser support
This site uses modern CSS features for layout. Older browsers that do not support CSS Grid or custom properties may experience degraded visual presentation, though content remains accessible.
Standards and Technology
This site is built to conform with:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA
- HTML5 semantic markup
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 for dynamic content and custom widgets
We test accessibility using a combination of automated tools and manual keyboard and screen reader testing. We do not rely on automated testing alone — automated tools can only detect approximately 30–40% of accessibility issues.
Feedback and Contact
We want to know about barriers.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on this site — content you cannot access, actions you cannot complete, or anything that makes the site harder to use — please let us know. We take these reports seriously and will work to address them promptly.
